Music Program Coordinator

Position Description
Support and strengthen SPCA’s music programs by working closely with music instructors, gathering feedback, sharing ideas, and helping ensure programs run smoothly throughout each session. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in recreation and music programming to contribute behind the scenes and help provide engaging, high-quality music programs for the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- - Engage with and maintain regular communication with instructors and volunteers supporting SPCA music programs during each program session:
- - Fall Session – September to mid-December
- - Winter Session – January to March Break
- - Spring Session – End of March to June
- - Attend Instructor Orientation Day in late summer and help welcome and support program instructors.
- - Attend monthly Program Committee meetings (no meetings in June, July, or December).
- - Provide feedback and share ideas for new or expanded music programs based on community interests and program needs.
- - Coordinate the program cancellation process when required and ensure instructors and other key stakeholders are informed.
- - Provide direct support and supervision to music program instructors and troubleshoot or report any issues that arise.
- - Work with the Program Co-Leads to provide instructors with feedback, guidance, and mentorship.
- - Distribute and collect program evaluations from instructors and share relevant feedback with the Program Committee.
- - Visit music programs throughout each session to connect with instructors, monitor programs, answer questions, and identify any support or resource needs.
- - Help ensure music programs have the appropriate materials, equipment, and supplies needed to operate successfully.
Time Commitment:
- - Term Length: Seeking a one-year commitment to the role.
- - Approximately 2 hours per month to attend Program Committee meetings.
- - Approximately 6 hours per month to visit programs throughout the session, support instructors and volunteers, complete instructor monitoring, respond to questions or concerns, and answer emails.
- - Additional time may occasionally be required to support program planning, supplies, or instructor needs.
Qualifications:
- - Available to commit to the Music Program Coordinator role requirements and attend monthly in-person Program Committee meetings.
- - Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- - An interest in music and community-based music programming.
- - Experience in music, recreational programming, or working with instructors is an asset.
- - Proven customer service and problem-solving skills.
- - Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
